Latest Reverse Osmosis technology trucked into bear country
Fort McMurray, Alberta, May, 2015
Instead of trucking out their wastewater, a Fort McMurray camp chose to recycle more of their wastewater with membrane technology and expect to save a half million dollars a year.
The RO unit recovers 80% water from their wastewater for reuse. The salty/soapy/brackish water with TDS of 7000 mg/L is currently producing very clean water with a TDS of less than 200 mg/L.
Sand filtration helps Ladysmith reclaim wastewater
Ladysmith, BC, April, 2015
As part of Ladysmith’s new wastewater treatment plant, one component subcontracted by the engineering company to BI Pure Water is a filtration system. Water from the DAF effluent channel which has been treated by an MBR system and DAF clarifier units moves through the sand filter at one hundred L/min, removing precipitates and suspended particles.
The permeate, filtered water, is expected to meet effluent quality requirements by reducing the BOD, turbidity, fecal coliform, and pH to acceptable levels suitable for release back into the environment.
