Municipal Wastewater Treatment Systems

Municipal Wastewater Treatment Systems

SUMMARY.

Emerging contaminants of concern in human wastewater are now being studied by medical doctors and researchers in this field.  These ECOC include pharmaceuticals (e.g., fluoxetine and lincomycin), industrial and household products (e.g., p-nonyphenol and triclosan), and reproductive and steroidal hormones (e.g., equilenin and progesterone), many  chemicals such as lawn care and agricultural products. They have been shown to bioaccumulate up the food web – putting fish and non-aquatic species at risk.

  • While most existing wastewater treatment solutions might appear to be working, the emerging contaminants aren’t being removed.
  • BI Pure Water has refined several methods to provide a more compact and efficient solution for our customers.
  • Contaminant reduction in wastewater significantly increases the quality of water supplies used for recreation and to provide potable water.
